(GSM) The Mali Football Association have sacked their Nigerian manager Stephen Keshi following their team s disappointing performance at the African Cup of Nations in Angola.
In a press release, the FA criticised the behaviour of some of the players and backroom staff, adding that it would terminate the contracts of the entire coaching staff and medical team.
Mali began their ACN campaign drawing 4-4 with hosts Angola, lost 0-1 to Algeria and beat Malawi 3-1. That win was not enough to advance to the quarter finals.
Keshi, who was an international defender for Nigeria and played for teams as Anderlecht and Strasbourg, joined Mali in 2008 after having started his coaching career with Togo four years earlier.
